Because Brianna is a stooge for the right wing who is employed to cover for their behavior.
That's a complete non-sequitur. Literally from out of no where.
And now you're blaming the Republican overturn of Roe v Wade on Democrats.
No, I'm blaming them for not passing pro-abortion legislation when they had a majority in both houses. Republicans are playing chess against an opponent repeatedly says "I'm skipping my turn, if I made a move it would be mean."
I get it. Democrats are bad.
You don't get it. Democrats never exercise power on behalf of marginalized people, but often do so against them.
But unlike what Jimmy Dore, Glen Greenwald, and Briahna want you to think, they are not as bad as the Republicans.
Who cares? They enable Republicans, and it is not wrong to point that out. You are only mad because that is being pointed out.

America has let me down before, but if 2024 is going to be a referendum on 'wokeness' I can't imagine that playing well nationally.
They'd basically force wall-to-wall discussion of the term and its definition, and anyone not completely in the looney tank will read it and wonder why they were fighting it at all.
Or even better, feel like the definition actually applies to them and then they come up with a new term for 'good wokeness'.
What do y'all think of Candace Owens? : r/blackladies

Oct 12, 2022 — Candace Owens was right about the BLM organization. The organization took the non profit funds that was supposed to be used to further the movement.
My views are not 'both parties equally bad derp derp' . My views on going after Democrats as well as Republicans are rooted in stuff like this article (Some Social Challenges That Won’t Magically Go Away With a Biden Presidency from C4ss):
Any fight against the tendencies of hyper-nationalism, fascism, and extreme right-wing populism is only possible while recognizing that these sentiments are not shared exclusively among “outsiders” of the usual political game, or away from what many initially think of as professional, civilized, and decent people — these tendencies are deeply rooted across the entire country. The easy thing to do is think of these sentiments as heading out of Washington along with Trump. The harder thing to do is accept that these sentiments cannot simply be lampooned and laughed off the stage, but need to be countered with serious arguments and genuine public discourse over the long run.

It's a term with a complicated history that most don't bother with, but colloquially, it's essentially used to refer to contemporary capitalist ideology.
For extended treatment on the topic, you might look at this Handbook of Neoliberalism from the anarchist Simon Springer (and a few others).

Marx did advocate for the centralisation of the state at times (see his letter to Engels during the Franco-Prussian War), but he also says that "the whole thing begins with the self-government of the commune". There's certainly a bit of ambiguity over this, and to my knowledge, Marx's position in the First International was often conflated with that of the Social Democrats', including on the state, by both the anarchists and later the Bolsheviks. That's probably the source of at least some of the confusion.

Honestly, I'm expecting a more subdued, effective and no doubt "diverse" centrist authoritarianism to dominate both national politics and the local politics of places like Portland that bore the brunt of Trump-era demonization.

What would be the point? Anarchists have abandoned electoralism since Proudhon's experiment with it in the 1840s. It seems like you'd need an awfully shallow understanding of anarchism to throw your lot in with either party when they both embody pretty much exactly what we're opposed to.

Focusing on anarchist ideas, rather than inviting partisan bickering along Democrat/Republican lines, will probably yield better results. Things obviously haven’t gone so smoothly so far in this particular sub thread.

Anarchy is a pretty straightforward notion, which entails abandoning hierarchical social structures and relations, including those where the "rule" takes the form of the interests of the collective dominating those of the individuals relegated to the role of "members." Change the basic patterns of social organization dramatically enough for that to become a reality and you will also change the nature of social decision-making equally dramatically. Democracy always depends on a hierarchy of that sort, even when it is a matter of voluntary submission of individuals to the outcomes of democratic processes. We can't talk about majority rule or consensus if we can't first posit a relatively fixed polity, which is assumed to have its own interests in most matters relating to the activities of its citizens.
We are very, very accustomed to thinking about social organization in these fundamentally political terms. To explore the alternatives, perhaps the easiest think to do is just to assume that the form we are aiming at is workplace anarchy (etc.) and then try to imagine how things will get done under those conditions.
op This topic is really complicated to me. I've seen some anarchists reject democracy because it's a hierarchy where the majority rule over the minority. Is some democracy acceptable in certain cases? What about workplace democracy?
