A very nuanced and non-biased answer (more so than my own comment in this same thread).

They should be allowed to vent and voice their displeasure with the communities they deem as promoting hate speech; but the fact that they actually have pull and are able to shut down even the most innocuous and tame subreddits is frustrating and worrying.

The thing is that in this political and media climate, anybody showing any level of empathy and understanding towards the outgroup will be framed as a "centrist" (at best).

I don't really think that recognizing your opponents' humanity and understanding that there's a genuine place their beliefs and value systems come from fundamentally changes or moderates what you yourself believe in - which I think is still fairly ambitiously progressive in Steven's case.

enough j peterson spam I discovered that sub just like an hour a ago and came back to reddit just to search for somebody else's experience with the sub (in this case, yours). Personally, what I found was a cesspool of insufferable, hateful, uncompassionate, apathetic (and some times psychotic), sociopathic, sadistic, misersble, manipulative, prideful, conceited, egotistical, immature, low IQ, edgiest edgelords, t w a t s/c u n t s/m o r o n s I have EVER seen. It's infuriating to the point it makes me want to seriously knock them out with my bare fists, it is teeth wrenching reading the NONSENSE and "edge-ness" of that subreddit
